ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL— Edlong is pleased to announce that on Wednesday, February 28, Laurette Rondenet, Owner & CEO of Edlong Flavors & President of the Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association (FEMA), will be speaking on a panel at the Spring Educational Seminar: Emerging Corporate Culture Driven by Science and Well-Being. The seminar will be hosted by FEMA and the Women in Flavor & Fragrance Commerce, Inc. (WFFC).
The panel will delve into the power of associations to attract and prepare young women for leadership roles in business. Rondenet and others will look at the different ways membership in these organizations can provide women with the support they need to navigate the industry and empower them to establish their own cultures of success.
“Success in any organization comes from creating a culture that people are proud to be a part of. One that’s empowering each individual to be their best, most authentic selves. This is especially important when it comes to supporting future female leaders in our industry. As president of FEMA, I’m so excited to partner with fellow board member, and WFFC president Gillian Bleimann for the opportunity to make a real impact with this event.”
In addition to FEMA President Laurette Rondenet and other members of the board of directors, this educational and networking event will host several notable and influential speakers from across the industry.
The seminar will be held at the Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel in Rutherford, NJ. It will cover crucial topics centered around wellness in corporate cultures, such as work/life balance, successful organizational stewardship, next-generation trends, and the key to self-confidence.
Edlong has a long history of partnering with FEMA. Prior to Laurette Rondenet being named to the FEMA board of directors in 2017 and president in 2023, Edlong’s association with the industry-leading organization spans more than half of a century to the company’s founder, Edward Long.
During that span, FEMA has shown an unprecedented commitment to ensuring the safety of our food supply. In support of this mission, Edlong proudly continues to follow the organization’s guidelines for the safe use of flavor in food and beverage products.
As the owner and CEO of the world’s largest independent, certified 100% woman-owned flavor house, Rondenet continuously strives to redefine what thriving corporate culture looks like. Under her leadership, Edlong has been named one of Chicago’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For by the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) for 10 consecutive years and has also been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois by the Daily Herald Suburban Business publication 5 years in a row.
Building an environment deserving of such awards is due, in large part, to Edlong’s generous benefits programs, which include ample PTO, mental health days, an Employee Assistance Program, employee appreciation events and recognition awards, profit-sharing, and paid family leave, as well as a distinctly family-first work culture.
Rondenet is dedicated to fostering a work culture that prioritizes the overall well-being of employees and works to provide them with opportunities for growth and success, both professionally and personally. Serving on the advisory board of the non-profit, Female Strong, she believes this is essential to encouraging and inspiring confidence in the next generation of women in the industry.
